How To Change Electric Guitar Strings Youtube

Guitar tabs or playing help please?
I’ve been playing electric guitar for around a couple of months so I know the strings, how to read tabs and the likes. I’m not an expert but I’m pretty good for a beginner if I do say so myself.
What I want to know is, when reading tabs to play a song, how do I know how many times to strum the strings. I see people playing songs on YouTube (cover versions) and then I look at the tabs. It’s what you’d expect, normally chords but where does it tell you on the tabulator how many times you should play it and when to change? My tutor told me the thing about tabs is it doesn’t tell you how long to play those notes for. How am to know how many times to strum the strings of each chord, when to change and how the rhythm goes?
I think you would have to listen to the song you’re learning and decipher how many times to strum the chords. Once you figure that out and learn the chords you can learn how to strum them properly.
