Guitar Strings Epiphone Les Paul

Changing string size on Les paul?
I just got an epiphone Les paul, however the string thickness seems a bit too much for me. If I put 9′s on my les paul will I have to get a set up done? or will it simply work without fret buzz? Because I’ve tried replacing 11′s with 9′s on my older guitar and it got unplayable fret buzz.
Probably yes,,you will have to set up the truss rod on guitar neck, the higher strings (10s, 11s) offer more pulling on neck, so the neck will bend like a bowl, the amount of “bending” is adjusted by truss rod. Once you will use a lighter strings, 9s, the pull on on neck will be less and the neck will be flatter than was before,,the strings can touch the neck around the 12th fret or others points (if the frets are not leveled). Like the first answer, maybe you are a luck guy and will work without problem…Try it..
