Should a beginner get a classical guitar with nylon strings or an acoustic one with steel strings?!?

Im new to guitars, and im going to buy one soon. Can you play a classical nylon string guitar with picks too?
which one would you recommend to a beginner?

Classical guitars are used almost exclusively for playing classical music. If you’re not interested in classical music it’s the wrong guitar for you. They are only played fingerstyle and anyone who says you can use a pick doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I’m sure there are a few people who use a pick but it’s basically just not done. There’s not enough tension on the strings for a pick to work correctly.

Steel string flattop acoustic guitars are much more versatile. They can be used for rock, pop, country, folk, blues, and more. They can be played with a pick or fingerstyle. It’s the right choice for virtually all beginning acoustic guitarists.

Good luck, and don’t forget to get lessons.
