Changing Guitar Strings On A Stratocaster

Problem with tremelo bridge and string tension?

I have a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar with a spring-tensioned tremelo bridge. I recently put some .11 gauge strings on the guitar, slightly heavier than the previous set. The extra tension needed to bring these strings up to the correct pitch is causing the bridge to tilt forwards to a great extent, rendering the whammy bar pretty much unusable. I’ve tried to correct this by dropping the tuning a whole tone, which helps, but this is obviously not an ideal solution. Other than changing back to lighter gauge strings, is there anything I can do about this?

i also have a guitar with the same bridge. there is usually a panel you take off in the back to put your new strings in and the springs that are in there are adjustable, there is a screw for each spring and depending on which way you turn the screw your bridge will sit nicely on the guitar like it is supposed to or do what yours is doing. try adjusting the springs. it worked for me
