Bass Guitar Strings Nylon
Bought Classical Acoustic Guitar by mistake, can I learn on it?
Well Well, for about 2 decades I wanted to learn an instrument. I played some bass when I was young but for a few months only. Anyway today I was passing in front of a music store and said, wth let’s do it. So I bought a beginner guitar, not knowing about the difference between a “classical” and a “standard”. The one I bought is a beginner classical guitar with 3 nylon strings and what appear to be 3 steel strings.
I’m mostly interested in learning strumming and ballads not classic music. The instrument sound fine to me beginner ears with a pick. I’m reading guitar for dummies and learned a few chords already.
Should I switch it for a “regular” 6 steel strings or learning on that “classical” guitar that, to the eyes of a beginner like me, look exactly the same as a regular guitar is ok? Is there something I don’t know that should make me switch right now to a “regular” one?

All the strings are nylon, the six lower strings are wound with metal.
The action on a classical guitar is a little different than an electric. It is easier to play because the strings are spaced wider apart and the strings are larger – bigger around.
I think classical guitars are easier to learn on. (says the guy who hasn’t been able to play a guitar tune in 20+ years).
A steel string/dreadnaught will be louder and brighter however. You’ll also have attachment points for a neck strap that you don’t have with a classical guitar.
